|
Reuters reported that Kazakh mining group ENRC is pleased with recent Q3 price increases in ferrochrome, it’s most important product, and is surprised at the recent tumble in its shares. Mr Miguel Parry CFO of ENRC on the sidelines of a conference in London told Reuters that "We are happy, we are extremely happy. I do not understand the reaction of the market. We have not changed any of our guidance." Mr Perry said that "We have always maintained that if ferrochrome prices in the third quarter were to go through the USD 2.00 mark, that's a substantial increase. It is a record price.” South African ferrochrome producer Merafe said that third quarter benchmark prices for the key ingredient in stainless steel rose to USD 2.05 per short tons from USD 1.92 per short tons in the second quarter. | ||
