Ukrainian steel makers very low on orders - Report - 28 Aug, 2008
Ukrainian News Agency reported that Illich Metallurgical Plant is on the verge Of closure because of orders shortfall.
The report cited Mr Volodymyr Boiko president of the Mariupol based steel maker as talking about a possible closure of the plant because of the lack of orders. He made this statement during the Cabinet meeting devoted to the situation in metallurgical industry.
Mr Boiko said "Prices are not a problem, the problem is that there are almost no orders and actually the plant is going to stop working in two or three days.”
Mr Boiko added that the Dniprovskyi metallurgical plant, Alchevsk metallurgical plant and the Zaporizhstal metallurgical plant are suffering from the same problem.
